Sr. Finance Analyst - Financial Reporting

Job Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) on the Financial Reporting team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic Global Accounting Organization (GAO) team and interact with multiple business partners in order to maintain external financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. This role offers many unique developmental opportunities, including frequent partnerships with corporate and finance functions and exposure to leaders within Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Global Impact, and Global Accounting Operations. You will also be involved in significant enterprise initiatives in support of the Accelerate strategy to drive shareholder value, technology transformation initiatives, and deepen accounting, controls, and reporting technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly SEC filings: Provide integral support to the Investor Relations team on external press releases and presentations.
• Support GAO teams: Provide subject matter expertise on the global consolidation and external financial reporting processes.
• Contribute to financial close processes: Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, accounting, consolidation, and reporting.
• Assess impact of changing business activities: Partner with GAO teams to evaluate impacts on accounting processes, reporting, and controls.
• Drive process improvement: Contribute to process improvements in the global accounting & controls environment.
• Support technology transformation initiatives: Contribute to external reporting process improvements with GAO teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work on topics critical to company strategy and results.
• Monitor financial reporting guidance: Stay updated on new financial reporting guidance and contribute to its implementation.
• Manage external business partners: Partner with and manage various external partners, including consultants and external auditors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 2-3 years of relevant experience, including consolidations and/or SEC reporting.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, results-oriented, proactive, and strong organizational skills. Commitment to process excellence and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• US GAAP knowledge: Aptitude for broad US GAAP subject matter, codification research, and documentation experience.
• Independence: Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA: Certified Public Accountant.
• Education: Master's in Accounting.
• Experience: Big Four public accounting firm experience.
• Software Knowledge: Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion (HFM).

Additional Considerations

We are open to 100% remote candidates with travel based on business needs (remote employees will be asked to travel to headquarters ~3x per year). International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered. Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $79,500 - $119,400 annually. Beyond base salary, General Mills offers a competitive Total Rewards package focusing on overall well-being, including health benefits, retirement, financial well-being, time off programs, and additional perks. Benefits may vary by role, country, region, union status, and other employment factors. You may also be eligible for an annual incentive program, based on individual and organizational performance.
