Senior Auditor

Job Summary

This role is part of AutoZone’s Internal Audit team, providing real-time support to domestic and international operations. The position focuses on improving operational efficiency, strengthening controls, and developing strategic insights through collaboration and data-driven audit practices. It is also a developmental role, preparing talented individuals for future leadership opportunities within AutoZone.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of auditors executing assurance and advisory projects
• Coach, train, and supervise audit staff to support professional development
• Lead audit projects from planning and risk assessment through reporting
• Collaborate with management to improve process efficiency and strengthen controls
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Use data analytics to evaluate risk, assess controls, and recommend improvements
• Assist with preparing materials for Board reporting and Enterprise Risk Management programs

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
• 3–5 years of experience in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, or Consulting
• Relevant certifications such as CPA or CIA are a plus
• Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills across all management levels
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Access, SQL, or SAS is a plus
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in dynamic, ambiguous environments
